Now, I am a huge soccer fan, so the European clubs jetting into the US to play friendlies has got me all excited. My favorite team, Manchester United will be playing 4 games. With a new coach and a few singing, these games will provide a first look at the new era.
So even though the World Cup has ended but the soccer season is just about to kickoff. Here is a rundown of the matches that are of interest to me and where to watch them:
Wednesday, July 23 (tomorrow)
- LA Galaxy vs Manchester United at 10:30 pm ET on FOX Sports 1: I will definitely see this game.
-Toronto vs. Tottenham Hotspur, 7 pm ET on ESPN2/WatchESPN: J. Defoe against his former team.
-Sporting KC vs. Manchester City, 9 pm ET on ESPN2/WatchESPN
-Liverpool vs. AS Roma, 10:30 pm ET on NBCSN
Saturday, July 26
-AS Roma vs. Manchester United, 4 pm ET on FOX: Tougher opposition for my team but they should win this one.
-New York Red Bulls vs. Arsenal, 5 pm ET on ESPN2/WatchESPN: Thierry Henry against the club where he made his name.
Sunday, July 27
-Manchester City vs. AC Milan, 4 pm ET on FOX Sports 1: English champions going against the Italian heavyweights.
-Liverpool vs. Olympiakos, 6 pm ET on FOX Sports 1
-San Jose Earthquakes vs Atletico Madrid on Direct TV pay-per-view (Don't quote me on this one): This game will be interesting to watch since last season Champions League runners up have lost most of their star players to other clubs (Diego Costa et al).
Sit back, relax and enjoy the summer soccer tour.
Part 2 coming right up...
